Cricket on Merseyside will receive a huge boost after Christmas 2005 when St. Margaret's High School in Aigburth, situated about a mile from the Liverpool Cricket Club (County Ground), opens its £1.8m 'Cricket Centre of Excellence'. The
Centre boasts a forty-three metre cricket hall with has four lanes
(three pace and one spin), bowling machines and a video/coaching room. |

St. Margaret's is one of Liverpool's strongest cricketing schools, whose former students include Lancashire's Paul Horton and Middlesex's Chris Whelan and will become the focal point for cricket development in the Liverpool area for years to come.
