Obituary - Tony Mulligan
Sunday 21st February 2010

It is with regret that the death was announced this morning of Tony Mulligan who had been suffering from cerebellar ataxia for several years.

Initially with Prescot, Tony played for Birkenhead Park in the seventies and eighties as a dour opening batsman. He returned to Prescot before becoming partially instrumental in turning Old Xaverians into a Saturday league side. On retiring from playing, he took up umpiring to go with the football refereeing he did in the winter.

Friends and colleagues in the Liverpool Competition extend their condolences to Tony's family.

Tony's funeral will be held at St Mary's Church, Church Road, Woolton, Liverpool L25 6HE next Tuesday, 2nd March 2010 at 2:15pm.
