Fleetwood Hesketh through to Echo
Knockout final
Friday 27th August 2004
Fleetwood Hesketh went into this busy weekend with a Liverpool Echo Knockout semi final against Northern this evening, a crucial home match with fellow First Division title contenders Colwyn Bay tomorrow, a trip to Liverpool on Monday and one eye on spending Sunday recharging their batteries.
Now that has all changed as they beat Northern (details not available) and now face Bootle in the final at Sea Cop on Sunday (29th August), stumps being pitched at 12:00 noon.
The final is a match of four innings of 20 overs with a 'tea interval' being taken between the second and third innings.
Fleetwood Hesketh were left with less than two days to organise the event as opponents Bootle are involved in finals the next two Sundays. On Sunday 5th September they're in the Littlewoods Gaming Knockout final at Newton le Willows and the following Sunday are at Old Trafford for the Thwaites LCB Knockout final against Westhoughton.
Sunday 19th September is a 'fall back' date for all three competitions. If the sun shines on each day, all well and good, if we have rain on more than one, we're in trouble.
