With Huyton's Grant Lambert being one of the Australian contingent recalled by New South Wales, the club has turned to Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez to see them through to the end of the season. An opening batsman and more than handy off spin bowler, he should be a more than adequate replacement for Lambert.

Huyton's other signing, wicket keeper Gary Morrison, returns to the club he played for from 1986-1989. After spending 1990 with Preston in the Northern League, Morrison returned to the Liverpool Competition to play with St Helens Recs, captaining the 1st XI from 1998-2000.

After playing only one game last season and six this season for Recs, Morrison has decided to join former team mates David Heyes and Lawrence Wilson at Huyton.
