Pedrola leaves Worsley for Leigh
Wednesday 16th
October 2002
Former Worsley captain, Heath
Pedrola, has put an end to speculation as to where he will be playing next
season by joining ECB Premier League side Leigh, it was announced today.
Heath was keen to continue
playing in the ECB Premier League and, with Worsley being relegated to the
First Division, it prompted several clubs, both in and outside the Liverpool
Competition, to be after his services. He will be a valuable addition to a
Leigh side that finished runners up to Wallasey as they strive to go one
better in 2003.
Heath Pedrola has scored 3160
league runs (average 42.70) since first playing in the L&DCC in 1999 with
scores of 173 (v Hightown, 2000), 165* (v Huyton, 1999) and 131 v Leigh in
2002 amongst his 6 centuries. In this time he has also taken 152 wickets at an
average of 19.00 with a best of 9-61 against Fleetwood Hesketh in 2001.
