Draws for 2003 Knockout Competitions
Tuesday 8th October 2002

On arrival at Liverpool's Aigburth ground this evening, one was transported into a bygone era as the ground was decked out in bunting with marquees around the boundary edge, as over the next couple of days it is being used as the scene of the Lord's Eton v Harrow match for ITV1's filming of the Forsyte Saga.

With the club's normal meeting place, the ballroom, being temporarily used by the film maker's wardrobe department, the L&DCC's end of season meeting took place in the smaller lounge in the lower regions of Liverpool's Victorian edifice.

Premier League Knockouts
Bootle, Leigh and Wallasey were drawn in the 'group of death' as their names were pulled out of the bag, accompanying Wigan in group 1. Maghull, newly promoted Newton le Willows, New Brighton and holders Lytham occupy the group 2 places with Huyton, Ormskirk, Northern and Northop Hall in group 3.

For the 2nd XI version of the knockout, Colwyn Bay and Sefton Park replace Lytham and Northop Hall respectively.

First Eleven Knockout (formerly Chelmere Homes Trophy)
Holders Wigan entertain Hightown in next year's competition with a trip to Maghull as the second round reward. Colwyn Bay are drawn at home to Lytham with the winners travelling to Haydock.

The tie of the second round depends on whether Ormskirk take a result from Newton le Willows to enable them to travel to Bootle.
