Test player signs for Sefton Park
Thursday 24th January 2002

Sefton Park has secured the signature of 25 year old Pakistan test player, Saleem Elahi (RHB, OB) for the coming season. Captain Stuart Wade says, "His agent, Khalid Rehman, has really pulled out the stops on this one to secure what will be Saleem's first league club appointment in this country. It will be a boost for the younger players at the club and he follows Trinidad's Marlon Black, who went on to represent the West Indies, and Queensland's Ashley Noffke". Although not on the current Pakistan trip to Bangladesh, Saleem did tour England last summer.

Sefton Park's playing staff has been further increased with the addition of opening batsmen and wicket keeper, Ben Moore. Currently studying at Liverpool University and available all season, Ben has previously played for Nottinghamshire 2nd XI and in the Nottinghamshire Premier League with Southwell.
