ECB Premier League - Ormskirk clinch first title since 1980

The champagne corks popped early at Brook Lane as Ormskirk, having declared their innings at 78-4 against arch rivals Bootle, were proclaimed ECB Premier League champions after their game finally gave way to the rain this afternoon. It was Ormskirk's first league title since 1980 and the captain of that side, Derek Anderton, witnessed the presentation of the 'John Tristram Trophy' to the captain of today, David Snellgrove by the L&DCC Chairman and former Ormskirk skipper himself, Sandy Tittershill.
