's 2nd XI completed a knockout double over New Brighton at Rake Lane in the final of the Chester Cup. Electing to bat, the home side used up 41.2 overs in reaching an all out 112 with Steve Nealey scoring 66 (8x4s), David Birks (9-3-10-3). Rob Smith (43) and Ian Glayzer (45*) put on 80 for Ormskirk's first wicket with Jonathan Steele adding a further 10* to register a nine wicket victory in 30 overs, the man of the match award going to Ormskirk's David Birks. scorecard
